What is Rockwall Talent Live!?
Rockwall Talent Live! is Rockwall County's premier talent competition, showcasing local performers of all ages while raising funds for the Rockwall Rotary Foundation. Proceeds from the event help support scholarships awarded to Rockwall ISD students each year.
Who can participate?
Rockwall Talent Live! is open to Rockwall County residents ages 5 and older. Participants may enter as individuals or groups. All entries are subject to review and approval by the Performance Committee.
What age categories are available?
Contestants compete in the following categories:
Elementary School
Teen
Adult
Senior (65+)
Additional categories may be added at the discretion of the event organizers.
How do I enter the competition?
Complete the online entry form on our website. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by the Performance Committee. You will receive notification regarding approval status and any additional instructions.
Is there a deadline to submit my entry?
Yes. All entries must be submitted by October 1. Late submissions may not be accepted.
Does submitting an application guarantee a performance spot?
No. Due to time limitations and event capacity, submission does not guarantee participation. All entries are reviewed and approved by the Performance Committee.
What types of performances are accepted?
We welcome a wide variety of talent, including:
Singing
Dancing
Musical performances
Comedy
Magic and illusion acts
Variety acts
Spoken word performances
Other family-friendly talents
If you're unsure whether your act qualifies, please contact us before submitting.
Can groups perform?
Yes. Groups, bands, dance teams, duets, and other multi-person acts are welcome to participate.
How are performers selected?
Rockwall ISD performers may be selected through their school's talent show process. Other entries will be reviewed by the Performance Committee and evaluated based on performance quality, content appropriateness, and available event time.
How long can my performance be?
Performances are limited to a maximum of two (2) minutes.
Can I use music, instruments, or props?
Yes. Contestants may use:
Backing tracks
Live instruments
Props
Contestants are responsible for providing any props or specialty equipment required for their performance.
All items will need to be brought on stage at the beginning of the performance and removed after the performance. Volunteers will be available to help with moving any props or items.
What equipment will be provided?
The event will provide:
Professional audio system
Stage lighting
Video display capabilities
Any additional performance materials, props, costumes, or special equipment must be provided by the contestant.
Are there any prohibited performances?
Yes. Rockwall Talent Live! is a family-friendly event.
The following are prohibited:
Hate speech or discriminatory content
Content that demeans or attacks any religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, or people group
Profanity or explicit content
Dangerous acts
Fire or pyrotechnics
Weapons of any kind
Illegal activities
All performances must comply with the rules and standards applicable to Rockwall-Heath High School and Rockwall ISD facilities.
How much do tickets cost?
General admission tickets are $5 plus applicable processing fees.
Can my performance be used in future promotions?
Yes. By participating, contestants may be photographed or recorded for promotional purposes. Selected performances, winner highlights, photographs, and event footage may be featured on the website, social media channels, and future event marketing materials. Appropriate media release forms will be required.
Do parents of performers receive free admission?
Yes. Each participating performer will receive two complimentary tickets.
